Memory quilts are in high demand for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, graduations and other special events. A lot of time and effort goes into gathering the pictures and making the quilt.

Yet, many memory quilts have an amateur look about them. Often, the photographs are uncropped

or have too much detail in the background, distracting from the focal subject. Sometimes very old photographs are used, without any effort to sharpen or clean up flaws in the pictures. Cheap photo transfer fabric is used, resulting in blurred images and a rough feel to the finished quilt. The well-intentioned maker may cut around the pictures, or compose them in an awkward way, leaving a

sense of imbalance in the finished product.

Unlike Castle Path Quilting, few memory quilt makers will take the time to work on your treasured
photographs using photo editing software such as Photoshop to prepare your images for use in a memory quilt.
